I have relocated once again, to the Bay Area in California. I live and work in Oakland, and have set up a studio with longtime friend and fellow metalsmith, Lucy Henderson. Her home is right down the street from mine, a wonderful coincidence! She and her roommates have made their warehouse apartment unit into a live/work space with a large space to hold events, the first of which was a couple weeks ago and was met with an enthusiastic crowd. A few friends and I showed work and everyone made out well, selling art to new friends and family in the community. In other good news, my work was recently picked up by a store in San Francisco called Erica Tanov, and I couldn't be more pleased and optimistic about this development!

I have had a wonderful summer and fall traveling, being spontaneous, and learning about the west coast. The landscapes here are incredible and fill me with inspiration, while the people I'm surrounded with give me the drive to make art. The Bay Area is a good match for me, I think I'm gonna stick this one out for a bit... Looking forward to my first snow-free winter (unless I take a day trip to the mountains of course) and getting caught up in studio life.

I drove across this vast country in a Uhaul a month ago. I have been working in the studio space at Pratt Fine Arts Center, and I'm on the lookout for a more intimate studio space of my own, or to share. Someday I'll live the dream and have my own work zone! But for now, the world is full of possibilites and I LOVE Seattle. Keep an eye out for my work, Seattle! It wont be long before the locals are wearing VillaLilla...

This month, YES.OUI.SI gallery on Vancouver Street in Boston near the MFA is having a show called CYCLES. My sculptural vessel "Fertility of Intent" is currently perching on a little pedestal in the back of the gallery hoping to be seen! Go check it out, and see all the other great work displayed! As of January 1st, 2011, I have a new space to work at Joy Street Studios, Somerville, MA. I look forward to selling my work at Motto in Harvard Square, Cambridge MA this spring, and I'll keep you posted on the progress of my first official line of dimensional jewelry...
